School year 2020–2021

General upper secondary schools and Finnish speaking comprehensive schools

Autumn term 2020–2021 begins on Thursday 13th of August 2020 and ends on Tuesday 22nd of December 2020.

  • Autumn holiday: Monday 12th October 2020 – Friday 16th October 2020
  • ​Christmas holiday: Wednesday 23rd of December 2020 – Wednesday 6th January 2021

Spring term begins on Thursday 7th January 2021 and ends on Saturday 5th of June 2021.

  • Winter holiday: Monday 22nd February 2021 – Friday 26th February 2021

Schools can change maximum one school-day into a holiday by running school on one Saturday.
Saturdays as school-days follow the timetable of the particular day, which is freed.

Swedish-speaking comprehensive schools

Autumn term 2020–2021 begins on Tuesday 18th of August 2020 and ends on Tuesday 22nd of December 2020.

  • Autumn holiday: Thursday 15th October 2020 – Friday 16th October 2020​
  • Christmas holiday: Wednesday 23rd of December 2020 – Wednesday 6th January 2021

Spring term begins on Thursday 7th January 2021 and ends on Saturday 5th of June 2021.

  • Winter holiday: Monday 22nd February 2021 – Friday 26th February 2021

Schools can change maximum one school-day into a holiday by running school on one Saturday.
Saturdays as school-days follow the timetable of the particular day, which is freed.

School year 2021-2022 

All comprehensive schools and upper secondary schools

Autumn term begins on 11th of August 2021 and ends on 22nd of December 2021. 

  • Autumn holiday: 18th October 2021 – 22nd October 2021 
  • Christmas holiday: 23rd of December 2021 – 9th January 2022 

Spring term begins on 10th January 2022 and ends on Saturday 4th of June 2022. 

  • Winter holiday: 21st February 2022 – 25th February 2022 

In pre-primary education provided by the Early Childhood Education Unit the last day of spring term is 3rd June 2022. The final-year students in upper secondary school have their last school day on 10th February 2022.
