Kauppamiehentie 3, Tapiola (Espoo)

SKRAJ is a concert that connects generations and demonstrates the importance of being yourself. Fears and prejudice can sometimes stand in the way of this. Inspiration for lyrics and monologues has been drawn from encounters with people of different ages. To reduce prejudice and cultural divides, songs and monologues are presented in Swedish, Finnish, Arabic, Russian and English. The song concert is suitable for all ages, but we recommend it especially for seniors and their grandchildren. The concert is both touching and fun.

EMO Ensemble

They say that you can only understand the beauty – and fragility – of the Earth by viewing it from space. Understanding humanity must be just as hard to achieve.

The themes of humans and nature are at the heart of the anniversary concert of EMO Ensemble, a young people’s chamber choir founded at Espoo Music Institute in 2000. Two pieces of music plunge into humanity: Einojuhani Rautavaara’s spectacular Katedralen, which opens up in the starscape with the eternal poems of Edith Södergran, and Francis Poulenc’s Figure humaine, his most massive a cappella composition, a cantata composed during World War II on the poems of Paul Éluard describing our deepest fears. The concert is directed by Pasi Hyökki.
