This autumn, Espoo will once again organise for its residents the annual plot application round for detached houses. This year, the number of plots to be made available will be higher than in recent years – totalling 78.
The majority of the plots to be made available are located in the developing single family house area of Kurttila, next to the services of seaside district Saunalahti. The number of plots to be made available in Kurttila is 51, with the majority located in the seaside area of Kallvik. A great deal of new construction is currently planned for Kurttila, and the area’s streets are currently being built.
23 of the plots are located in the Henttaa area, which is characterised by its proximity to nature and the services of Suurpelto. The plots to be made available also include three plots in the popular Lintuvaara area and a single plot in the new residential area of Perusmäki in North Espoo.
Plots available for lease or purchase
The sizes of the plots range from around 485 to 1,250 square metres, with permitted building volumes ranging from approx. 120 to 260 floor square metres. Applicants can choose whether they wish to lease or purchase a plot. In 2019, approximately one third of detached house plot recipients opted to purchase. At the time, the number of plots made available in the plot application round was 54.
The exact dates of the plot application round will be announced as soon as possible on the City of Espoo website. The plot application round is based on a draw, with applicants who are residents of Espoo given priority.
