Child Psychiatric Outpatient Unit
The Child Psychiatric Outpatient Unit consults, assesses, examines and treats mental health problems of children under the age of 13 in Espoo. The unit also serves the children’s families and social networks.
Partners may turn to the Child Psychiatric Outpatient Unit’s consultation team if a child struggles with serious problems in their daily life and/or there is a clear delay in the social and emotional development of the child considering their age. Partners may consider referring the child in question to the unit for assessment if the child’s emotional development or mental health causes considerable concern, the child’s functional capacity has decreased or the child has problems at school for reasons such as anxiety, depression or aggression.
The unit has four child psychiatrists, seven psychologists, one neuropsychologist, seven nurses and a social worker, a speech therapist and an occupational therapist.
The unit does not offer psychiatric emergency services or hospital care.
